Uttarakhand Tourism Launches ‘Nakshatra Sabha’: India’s First Astro-Tourism Campaign in Partnership with Starscapes

The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board has partnered with Starscapes, an astro-tourism company, to launch 'Nakshatra Sabha,' India's first annual campaign dedicated exclusively to promoting astro-tourism.

The inaugural event took place from May 31 to June 2, 2024, at George Everest in Mussoorie.

Nakshatra Sabha offers a comprehensive astro-tourism experience, including activities such as stargazing through specialized equipment, special solar observations, astrophotography contests, and camping under the stars.

The campaign aims to position Uttarakhand as a premier destination for astronomy enthusiasts and travelers.

The initiative also focuses on dark sky preservation, intending to develop policies and raise awareness about minimizing light pollution. By collaborating with local communities, travel partners, and homestay owners, Nakshatra Sabha seeks to boost local economies and provide professional training opportunities.
