At a time when most educators find comfort in routine, Dr. Mandal broke the mold. With academic honours including M.A., B.Ed., D.E.L.T., a Ph.D. from the Indian Universities and a D.Litt. (h.c.) from the University of Cuneo, Italy he became more than a teacher—he became a torchbearer of intellectual awakening. In 2022, his relentless efforts were recognized when the Government of West Bengal honoured him with the Shiksha Ratan Award 2022, one of the state’s most prestigious accolades for educators.

The Bard in the Classroom
Dr. Mandal's love for Shakespeare isn’t just scholarly—it’s soulful. While most view the Bard’s plays as historical texts, he sees them as mirrors to modern life. “Shakespeare wrote with a profound understanding of human nature and our relationship with the world around us,” he says. His research dives deep into how plays like King Lear and The Tempest subtly critique mankind’s disruption of nature—long before the term ‘climate change’ was coined.

Through his classroom sessions, he brings Shakespeare to life — linking Elizabethan drama to present-day environmental crises and encouraging students to become eco-conscious thinkers.

Bridging Books and Biodiversity
A committed environmentalist, Dr. Mandal doesn’t just teach green values—he lives them. Whether it’s organizing tree plantation drives, writing papers on ecological sensitivity, or mentoring students on sustainable living, he walks the talk. His work is a reminder that education is not confined to textbooks but is woven into the very fabric of community and consciousness. He is the first tn the district of Paschim Bardhaman to take initiative to prepare the first “Khandabon” through a massive tree plantation at Raniganj for the wellbeing of the living beings in the locality. He has also been engaging his students in Community outreach Programmes of Cancer Awareness since 2023.

With multiple awards like Best Environmentalist, Best Innovative Teacher, and Lifetime Achievement Awards to his name, Dr. Mandal has set a national example of how educators can shape not just minds, but mind-sets. Above all he was awarded with the Certificate of International Best Researcher Award 2024 by the Hon’ble Education Minister of Tamilnadu and subsequently became the proud member of the most prestigious American Chamber of Research.

Scholar, Author, Visionary
Dr. Mandal has co-authored pivotal books on Research Methodology, Professional English, and the forward-thinking NEP-2020. His work reflects a deep understanding of how policy and pedagogy must go hand in hand. He’s also contributed extensively to research on cyber security, recognizing the role of digital literacy in the 21st century.

With six patents (5 Indian & 1 UK) granted and more on the way, he proves that age is no bar when it comes to innovation.
